Take part in developing SBTi Standards

Do you work in a high-emitting sector? Then the SBTi wants to hear from you. You are invited to complete this survey to inform and guide the evolution of our work for high-emitting companies.

This call for evidence is the start of our new structured engagement program with companies as part of our 2026-2030 strategy. It is designed to close the gap between SBTi's science-based requirements and the operational realities facing high-emitting companies today. Our aim is to gather high-quality, real-world data and evidence to enable the development of truly fit-for-purpose sector resources.

Sectors in scope: Aluminium, Aviation, and Steel (as well as other heavy emitting sectors)

All updated and new resources will go through extensive scrutiny, including stakeholder feedback and pilot testing. Those wishing to participate in these activities can indicate their interest in the survey; expressions of interest should be submitted by July 31, 2026. The survey will remain open until September 11, 2026.

The SBTi is inviting feedback on the supporting documentation for the Methods, Metrics, and Pathways that accompany the Corporate Net-Zero Standard V2.0.

The methods, metrics and pathways (MMPs) support implementation of the Standard by providing the calculation approaches, benchmarks and emissions reduction trajectories used to translate climate goals into company-level target setting and performance assessment.

Scope of this public comment period

This public comment period focuses on the clarity, usability, structure, and completeness of this supporting documentation. Feedback will help refine the guidance that supports implementation of Version 2.0 of the Corporate Net-Zero Standard.

Stakeholders are invited to review the methods, pathways, and how they apply across scopes and sectors. Feedback can shape how the MMPs are structured, explained, and implemented. However, the underlying scientific and technical calculations that form the basis of the MMPs have already undergone extensive stakeholder review through two prior public consultations during the development of the Standard, and are not subject to change through this process.

• Test the application of methods, metrics, and pathways using the target-setting tool.
• Share feedback through the survey.
