Take part in developing SBTi Standards

How SBTi develops Standards

The SBTi follows a structured process for developing and revising standards, as set out in the Standard Operating Procedure for the Development of SBTi Standards.

The process includes research, technical assessment, public consultation, pilot testing, and formal governance review. These steps help ensure that standards are grounded in science, informed by practical experience and developed through transparent decision-making.

Depending on the stage of development, stakeholders may have the opportunity to contribute through public consultations, pilot testing or other engagement opportunities.
