Project Launch: Science-based Targets for Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) Related Sectors

Date: 25 February 2020
Time: 05:00 pm - 06:00 pm Europe/London
Location: Online

WWF and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) invite you to join us for a consultation webinar launching a new project to develop methods and guidance to enable forest, land, and agriculture (FLAG) related sectors to set Science-Based Targets that include emissions from deforestation and other land sector emissions. Companies and other stakeholders are invited to register.

The webinar will include:

– Introduction to the SBTi and FLAG sector development project
– Overview of Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) emissions
– FLAG project scope, objectives and expected timeline
– Overview of stakeholder consultation process
– Q&A session

This work will be carried out in close coordination with World Resources Institute to develop an updated and improved Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol for land sector emissions and removals. The aim for these two efforts is to jointly address an important gap in corporate climate accounting and incentivize companies to incorporate deforestation-reduction efforts into their climate targets.
