Stacey Mitchell

Stacey Mitchell is partner in the law firm of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, in where she advises domestic and international companies and funds on a wide range of environmental regulatory and policy matters, including climate change risk, environmental, social and governance considerations and compliance assistance. Drawing on more than 25 years of litigation experience, Stacey also represents clients in complex criminal and civil litigation. Stacey is a co-leader of the firm’s ESG and climate change cross practice groups.

Stacey previously served as Deputy General Counsel at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Chief of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Environmental Crimes Section (ECS). Stacey holds a J.D. from Tulane University School of Law and a B.S. from Colby College.

Stacey serves on the Board of Directors for the Global Fund for Children. She lives in Washington D.C. with her husband and son.
