Alex Kazaglis

Alex Kazaglis is Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer at the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), where he leads the organisation’s strategy and transformation agenda to strengthen impact, credibility, and delivery at scale.

Alex brings over 20 years of global experience in climate strategy, organisational transformation, and senior advisory work across the public and private sectors. Prior to joining SBTi, he was a Partner at McKinsey & Company and a leader in the Strategy & Corporate Finance and Sustainability practices, advising corporations, financial institutions, and governments on climate transition strategy, organisational transformation, and execution in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

Prior to McKinsey, Alex was a Director at Vivid Economics, where he helped scale the firm’s work on climate economics, policy analysis, and transition pathways, supporting governments and institutions on complex climate and energy challenges.

Earlier in his career, Alex held senior roles in both the UK and Australian governments, including with the UK Committee on Climate Change and the Australian Government’s Climate Change Authority, where he led the development of climate change policy and evidence-based advice. Alex also holds academic and advisory roles at the London School of Economics and the University of Technology Sydney, contributing to research, teaching, and policy engagement on climate change and sustainability.

Alex is recognised for driving systemic change at scale and for combining strategic clarity with pragmatic delivery to accelerate credible corporate climate action.
