Dr. Kae Takase

Dr. Kae Takase is Senior Manager at the Renewable Energy Institute (REI), where she conducts policy-oriented research on electricity and energy system modelling, renewable energy deployment, and corporate climate action. She contributes to international standard-setting and public policy development through roles including the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Scope 2 Technical Working Group, the Advisory Board for the Joint Crediting Mechanism (JCM), and various committees and advisory groups convened by the Ministry of the Environment, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and Kyoto Prefecture, among others. Before joining REI, she served as Associate Director at CDP Worldwide–Japan, supporting companies and investors on science-based targets, RE100, and TCFD-aligned climate disclosures. Her earlier work included modelling and analysis at the Institute of Energy Economics, Japan, the Research Institute of Innovative Technology for the Earth, and the Center for Low Carbon Society Strategy. She holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Keio University and a PhD from the University of Tokyo.
