Launch of the Science Based Target Setting Guidance for the Maritime Transport Sector

Date: 6 December 2022
Time: 10:30 am - 11:45 am Eastern Time
Location: Online

The maritime sector serves as a critical link in many global supply chains. More than 80% of global trade by volume is carried by sea, and this sector contributes to ~3% of global greenhouse gas emissions. It has a responsibility and an obligation to accelerate its climate action to tackle the climate crisis, and enable the transformation to a net-zero economy.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is launching the first science-based framework to enable companies in the maritime transport sector to set near-and long-term science-based targets in line with 1.5°C, taking into account sector-specific barriers and opportunities.

Join us on December 6 at 10:30 am (ET) to learn about the SBTi Guidance for the Maritime Transport Sector, and how businesses in this industry can set robust emissions reduction targets in line with climate science to accelerate their decarbonization efforts at the depth and pace needed to enable a 1.5°C future.
