COP23: Further, faster corporate climate action

The ambition of the Paris Agreement can only be fully realized with business engaged as a core implementation partner. More than 600 major global corporations, with combined revenues of $8.1 trillion, have made more than 1000 bold commitments to act on climate change as part of the We Mean Business coalitionÛªs Take Action campaign.

They include 300 companies committed to set a science-based emissions reduction target and more than 100 aiming to source 100% renewable power. Yet, there is more to be done if business is to realize its full potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at scale. Corporate representatives will share how bold commitments to reduce emissions are driving innovation, growth, risk management and growth within their businesses, followed by a discussion exploring how governments can create the enabling policies that support them to deliver further climate action, faster.
