McKenna Smith

McKenna Smith is the Interim Managing Director of SBTi Services.

Previously, McKenna served as the Deputy Director at SBTi, where she led the strategic oversight and technical delivery of target validation to drive global decarbonisation, and successfully scaled the validation pipeline to process thousands of corporate targets annually. Her earlier career featured significant roles as a Carbon Consultant and Auditor, during which she managed client accounts and developed GHG baselines.

McKenna brings an extensive background in GHG accounting, value chain strategy, and large-scale technical operations. In her leadership capacity, she has overseen and approved over 9,000 corporate and financial institution GHG inventories and targets, ensuring alignment with SBTi standards. She manages a global team of 50+ experts across seven countries and is responsible for delivering SBTi Services customer pipeline. Beyond her operational impact, McKenna is a recognised thought leader in the climate sector and has delivered keynote addresses at premier global forums, including ChangeNow in Paris, the Innovation Forum, and the OECD-partnered conference in Geneva.

McKenna holds an MSc in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Sustainability.
