SBTi is looking for a Bookkeeper to help with our new entity's financial processes. A Bookkeeper helps businesses make critical financial decisions by collecting, tracking, and correcting the company's finances. This position will be responsible for creating and registering invoices, generating financial reports, and working with day-to-day financial operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Creating and processing invoices on the sales ledger.

• Processing expenses.

• Credit control and aged debt reporting.

• Banking, credit card, and cash flow reporting

• Bank reconciliations.

Location: New Zealand.

As the Transport Analyst the position will focus on greenhouse gas accounting (GHG) and ideally transport modeling. This position will focus on working with the SBTi partnership organizations, external consultants, not-for-profit (NGO), and corporate stakeholders, through the formation of management of Expert Advisor Groups (EAG) working to develop the 1.5 °C aligned Standards for the Transport Sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Work closely with MPP and SFC to undertake greenhouse gas accounting; scenario planning; and detailed 1.5 °C pathways analysis using the International Energy Agency and other suitable transport modeling.

• Helping to ensure that the underlying assumptions, carbon budgets, and methodological foundation for emissions pathways are fully aligned.

• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing transportation data and analysis findings.

As part of SBTi's new incorporation with a Charity entity, it is a key role in continuing the fundraising for the future.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop, oversee, and actively lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy that exploits a wide range of fundraising opportunities, and maintains diverse and sustainable income streams.

• Maintain an overview of funding across the organization and analyze income sources to manage the fundraising strategy, assess progress against targets, and contribute towards our financial capacity.

• Work effectively with our Board of Trustees to identify, map, and develop a network of potential major donors and unlock high net worth opportunities with a focus on delivering against the long-term strategy for growth.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is looking for an outstanding individual to lead the process to develop the Financial Institutions Net-Zero Standard. Once the standard is developed, they will act as “product owner” for the standard and take ownership of its integration and maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the standard-setting process for the Financial Institutions Net-Zero Standard, according to SBTi Procedures and aligning with ISEAL Codes of Good Practice
• Directly managing the FI Net-Zero Project Officer, and working cross-functionally, between the Standards and Financial Institutions teams, as well as wider teams within the SBTi
• Acting as “product owner” for the Financial Institutions Net-Zero Standard, taking responsibility for its integration throughout the wider initiative as well as its maintenance over time

The postholder will work to help develop technical resources, guidance and tools to drive the adoption of climate targets in line with the ambition required to limit warming to 1.5°C with a special focus on the industry sectors.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the SBTi’s industry or energy sector work, including managing up to 3 technical managers
• Development of standards, tools and technical resources to facilitate the adoption of 1.5°C-aligned targets in the industry (chemicals and aluminum) sectors or energy (oil & gas, power) sectors
• Follow-up of cement and steel guidance from a technical point of view, including periodic review and revision of materials as needed

The SBTi’s Target Validation Team is looking for new team members who are passionate about corporate climate action and experienced in GHG emissions. The Target Validation Team are technical experts whose function is to conduct target validations and deliver results on corporate and financial institution’s climate targets.

Key responsibilities include:

• Conduct in-depth assessments of Financial Institution emission reduction targets to ensure their alignment to the level of ambition set in the Paris Agreement and SBTi criteria;

• Serve as the lead contact for Financial Institutions throughout target reviews in order to request additional information and clarification needed for target assessment, answer technical questions, and provide updates on the validation process;

• Update internal databases with company and target information;

• Write and present training materials to disseminate best practices on science-based target setting to an array of stakeholders

• Conduct in-depth assessments of corporate emission reduction targets to ensure their alignment to the level of ambition set in the Paris Agreement and SBTi criteria;
• Serve as the lead contact for corporations throughout target reviews in order to request additional information and clarification needed for target assessment, answer technical questions, and provide updates on the validation process;
• Support with analyses of trends on corporate emission reduction targets reported through all partner organizations and the Science Based Targets initiative;
• Update internal databases with company and target information.
