Workshop on the role of carbon dioxide-removal in corporate net-zero transitions - London
The SBTi is hosting two workshops on the role of carbon dioxide removal in corporate net-zero transitions in London and at Climate Week NYC.
The Corporate Net-Zero Standard states that once companies have achieved their long-term emission reduction target, they must neutralize any residual emissions through permanent removal and storage of CO2 from the atmosphere.
The SBTi is currently revising this flagship standard. As part of this work, it is reviewing options to improve guidance related to neutralization.
The workshops will inform the SBTi’s research on the role of carbon removals as companies work towards their net-zero target date. The insights gathered at the workshops will be considered for an SBTi research paper that will support the revisions to the Corporate Net-Zero Standard.
