Supply chain emissions represent the largest source of emissions from companies - they are more than 11 times larger than direct emissions on average. That’s why the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) recently published new guidance to support companies to engage their supply chains to set science-based targets. The guidance includes a full set of materials and resources for companies to use when engaging their suppliers around science-based targets.
On August 17 2023, the CEOs of SBTi and the We Mean Business Coalition will host a webinar to discuss best practice in supplier engagement and launch a new approach to acceleration.
Maria Mendiluce, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the We Mean Business Coalition, and Luiz Amaral, CEO at the SBTi, will share details of the new initiative alongside wider insights. They will be joined by representatives of AstraZeneca and Philips - two global companies that are leading the way in supplier engagement – to discuss their experiences.
