Shining a Light on the FLAG Target-Setting Process

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) launched the Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) Target Setting Guidance at the end of 2022. This guidance enables companies to set science-based targets that include land-related emissions and removals for the first time - filling a 22% gap of global emissions that have not been addressed before.

To guide companies throughout the FLAG target setting process, on March 14, 2023 the SBTi is hosting a webinar, where its experts will provide a step-by-step explanation of what companies should take into account to determine whether or not are required to submit a FLAG science-based target for approval.

The team will also share the most relevant information to consider in the FLAG target-setting process, key dates to have in mind, implications on existing approved targets, working examples, and address frequently asked questions.
