From Commitment to Action: Regional Webinars on Setting FLAG Science-Based Targets
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) launched the Forest, Land and Agriculture (FLAG) Target Setting Guidance to enable companies to set science-based targets that include land-related emissions and removals for the first time - filling a 22% gap of global emissions that have not been addressed before.
To guide companies in the process of accounting for land-based emissions and removals, as well as setting FLAG science-based targets, the SBTi will host a series of webinars for Asia Pacific, Latin America and Portuguese speaking countries in July 2023.
Register for the Asia Pacific Session: Wednesday, July 5 at 2:00 pm (GMT+7) / 9:00 am (CEST). This event will be in English, and live interpretation in Bahasa Indonesian and Mandarin will be available.
Register for the Latin American Session: Tuesday, July 11 at 11:00 am (EST) / 5:00 pm (CEST). This event will be in Spanish.
Register for the Session for Portuguese-Speaking Countries: Thursday, July 13 at 10:00 am (EST) / 4:00 pm (CEST). This event will be in Portuguese.
Experts from the initiative and the GHG Protocol will provide updates on the GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals Guidance; a step-by-step explanation of what companies should take into account to determine whether or not are required to submit a FLAG science-based target for approval; the FLAG target-setting process; dates to have in mind; working examples and address frequently asked questions.
Since not all the experts supporting the development of these webinars are native speakers of the different languages in which the events will take place, we encourage you to submit your questions through this form prior to the day of the events. We will only be answering questions submitted beforehand and will not have a live Q&A box.
