Steve Nicholls leads the environment work at the NBI. This includes providing platforms for corporate leadership in South Africa and enhancing ambition. The NBI is working to establish net-zero pathways for key sectors across the South African economy and aligning stakeholders behind implementation projects. Science Based Targets are an essential tool in understanding appropriate levels of ambition in a comparable and verifiable way.

Prior to joining the NBI, Steve worked in management consulting leading sustainability projects across multiple countries and sectors.
