Dr. Christina Swanson

Christina (Tina) Swanson, Ph.D., is a science and policy professional with 25 years of experience in climate change mitigation, natural resource management, and indicators and impact assessment. She served as Director of the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Science Center from 2011-2022 and Chief Scientist and Executive Director of The Bay Institute from 2008-2011. She has authored or co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and numerous technical and policy reports, provided expert testimony, and served on scientific and technical advisory committees and working groups. She received her B.A. from Cornell University and her doctorate from University of California, Los Angeles.
