Daniel Zarin

Daniel Zarin is Executive Director for Forests and Climate Change at WCS. He previously developed and led global philanthropic initiatives in climate change and land use as Director of Programs at the Climate and Land Use Alliance (2010-2021) and as Senior Advisor to the David and Lucile Packard Foundation (2008-2009). Dan was professor/associate professor of tropical forestry at the University of Florida (2000-2009), and assistant professor of forest ecology at the University of New Hampshire (1995-2000). He has published extensively on forest ecology, management, and policy, the interface between deforestation and climate change, and the role of forests in climate regulation.
