Christine Pout

Principal Consultant BRE

I have worked on energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions for buildings at BRE for over 30 years. I led a team that developed a non-domestic building stock energy model for the UK which was extensively used to provide strategic advice to Government to inform energy efficiency and climate change policy. I also provided technical advice to commercial clients in relation to the energy performance buildings and have built up extensive knowledge of regulations, and of mandatory and voluntary standards, codes and metrics relating to buildings, energy, environment impacts and performance.

My current role is within the BREEAM team where I am responsible for energy and carbon elements of BREEAMs holistic sustainability assessment schemes which continue to drive increasing levels of carbon reduction in the built environment, I also work on external net zero carbon building initiatives, including a collaborative industry led project to develop a UK net zero carbon building standard.
