Amir Safaei

Amir Safaei is the Senior Manager of Climate Accounting and Standards at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and part of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol secretariat. His expertise lies in life cycle assessment methodology, GHG accounting as well as climate taxonomy and standards, and their application to corporates and nations.

Prior to joining WBCSD, Amir led the Sustainable Recycle Industries Program component A, where he coordinated an international coalition to collect and provide several regions (Asia, Latin America, Africa, Europe) with the capacity and data pools required for environmental reporting including GHG at national and corporate levels.

Amir holds an MBA from the university of Glasgow and Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy systems from the university of Coimbra in Portugal and Massachusetts institute of Technology in USA.
