Researcher Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University

Yann Robiou du Pont is a researcher at the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development at Utrecht University working on assessing the climate justice and ambition of the climate pledges of state and non-state actors.

Beyond quantitative objectives, Yann's work discusses the role of actors in the transition and is the author of the national ambition assessments Paris-Equity-Check.org and FairShareNow.org. His research, published in Science and Nature journals, is used by governments to inform their emissions targets (UK's 2030 and 2050 targets, State of Victoria Australia), diplomatic teams at UN negotiations, and courts of law in climate cases.

Outside his academic contributions, Yann also informed diplomatic teams for UN negotiations (from the EU and the Climate Vulnerable Forum), informed courts in several climate litigation cases through expert opinions (before the European Court of Human Rights).
