About the We Mean Business Coalition:

We Mean Business is a powerful coalition of leading nonprofits that work with the world’s most influential businesses to take action on climate change. Together we catalyze business leadership to drive policy ambition and accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy.

Born on the road to Paris, our coalition brings together seven leading nonprofits; BSR, CDP, Ceres, CLG, The B Team, The Climate Group and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. By collaborating, we leverage each of our partner’s unique expertise to halve emissions by 2030 and accelerate the transition to a zero-carbon economy by 2050 at the latest.

Policy change and business action are key levers for systemic change. Our coalition operates at their intersection. As the engine of the global economy, business is uniquely placed to drive the transition to a zero-carbon economy. Faster. With greater policy ambition, business can go even further.

We act as a catalyst for businesses to take action on climate change.

Corporate commitments and programmes that support their delivery are delivered by our coalition partners. They enable business to rapidly decarbonize at the pace science requires.

We inform and influence governments to be more ambitious in policy-setting.

We provide a powerful and united voice of business to demonstrate to governments that companies are ready, willing and able to move faster – in order to drive policy ambition.

We drive ambition loops to speed up the transition to a zero-carbon economy.

The more action business takes, the more this evidence can be used to advocate for change, the more confidence Governments have to set ambitious climate policies
