Simi, an economist by training, has 10 years of experience in climate change with a focus on the agriculture and energy sectors. Her passion is bridging the gap between scientific research and real-world action, creating evidence-based tools for decision-makers. Throughout her career, she has led pioneering work using models and tools to advance understanding of the impact of climate change. She has worked with key players such as the Government of India, the UN, and the IMF to build strategic vision and innovative solutions to plan for complex real-world challenges, including climate change.
Currently, at FAIRR, a large investor network, Simi is leading the work on a cutting-edge climate risk tool that links the profitability of the world's largest livestock producers to climate risks and impacts. She holds a Ph.D. in International Economics from Yokohama National University.
