Launch of SBTi Apparel and Footwear Sector Guidance
World Resources Institute (WRI) and the Apparel Impact Institute (AII) are hosting a workshop on June 25th in Barcelona to launch new guidance for apparel and footwear sector companies to set science-based climate targets.
With the launch of the guidance, we will turn our collective attention to identifying where the needed greenhouse gas emissions reductions will come from, and how companies across the apparel and footwear value chain can achieve them.
Note: This even is invite-only. If you are interested in attending, please email [email protected].
– Present the Apparel and Footwear Sector Science-based Targets Guidance, including the final criteria and recommendations
– Discuss how companies can reduce emissions across the value chain
Explore existing industry-wide efforts to reduce emissions and where investment and attention are needed going forward
– Ultimately, we aim to help companies with approved science-based targets and those considering them see a clearer pathway towards achieving the ambitious reductions required under the Science Based Targets initiative.
The outcomes of the workshop will also be shared within the workstreams of the Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action, and will help inform their progress towards an industry approach to reaching net-zero emissions by 2050.
