Maria Cervantes

Maria Cervantes is the SMEs Manager for the SBTi. Her role is to conduct due diligence and ensure that applicants meet the initiative's criteria and are using the most recent climate science.

She became interested in environmental topics while working as a Research Assistant for an Environmental Lawyer. Additionally, she interned as a Environmental Affairs Assistant at ECLAC's Climate Change and Agricultural Development Department. Her experience includes working as an administration manager for small and large companies. She was also an assistant to ambassadors and interned at the Mexican Foreign Affairs Ministry early in her career.

Maria is a Political Scientist and holds a Master’s degree in International Energy and Environmental Studies from Sciences Po Paris.
