Lígia joined the UNGC Brazil team in 2020 as an engagement coordinator for the Science Based Targets initiative. Lígia’s work focuses on leveraging the outreach and engagement plans and activities to increase awareness and uptake and to facilitate the adoption of science-based targets by companies worldwide. Lígia has also a special focus on companies from Latin America, engaging and supporting them to commit to and develop science-based emission reduction targets through the Science Based Targets initiative.

Before joining UNGC/SBTi, Lígia has worked with projects on sustainable supply chains, sustainable procurement, sustainability indicators and territorial development in the Amazon Region as an independent consultant, a researcher at the Center for Sustainability Studies of Getulio Vargas Foundation and as an intern at Banco Santander. Lígia holds a bachelor's degree in International Affairs from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo and a post graduate diploma in Sociology from Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Política de São Paulo. She is currently based in São Paulo, Brazil.
