RESEARCH AND TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT

Fernando is Corporate Decarbonization Research Lead for the SBTi, working for WWF. Within the initiative, Fernando will be responsible for coordinating research around the achievement of science-based targets, defining allowable approaches that effectively lead to real world emission reductions and substantiate emission reduction claims, and developing and incorporating performance criteria into the SBTi standards.

In his previous role as Head of Sector Development, Fernando lead and contributed to the creation of numerous sector specific publications, tools and other SBTi technical resources. His past experience includes air quality and carbon consulting, GHG auditing, and public policy analysis on sustainability, cleantech and renewables. He is an industrial engineer with a Master’s degree in Environmental Management and he currently lives in Mexico.
