Dr. Christa Anderson

Director, Climate Science and Carbon Metrics WWF

Dr. Christa Anderson has 15 years of experience working on conservation, climate change, land use, and forests. She is a primary developer of the Forest, Land, and Agriculture guidance under Science-Based Targets Initiative.

Prior to WWF’s climate team, Christa a research fellow in WWF’s Global Science team. She previously worked on climate change programs at the World Bank and in International Programs at the US Forest Service. She has developed environment programs and worked in Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Indonesia, and Peru.

Christa has published in scientific journals including Science, Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment, and Environmental Science and Technology; she is also a contributing author to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report. Her work has been covered in popular media outlets such as The Washington Post and NPR’s Science Friday.
