Workshop: Setting Science-Based Targets

Date: 2 March 2018
Time: 09:00 am - 04:30 pm Europe/Berlin
Location: Thyssenkrupp AG, Essen, Germany

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is an NGO partnership (CDP, UN Global Compact, WRI, WWF) that provides a framework for companies to set Greenhouse Gas Emission reduction targets based on the latest available science. The initiative aims to assist companies in setting science-based emission reduction targets in line with the level of decarbonization required to keep global temperature increase below 2℃, as described in the fifth Assessment Report of the IPCC and agreed under the Paris Agreement in 2015.

This workshop, organized ahead of the April 15th deadline for submitting targets to the SBTi to count for CDP scoring, aims to provide resources and guidance to aid your company in this journey, with a hands-on approach.

The event will start in the morning with a plenary session and continue in the afternoon, with break-out sessions. You can find below the preliminary agenda for the day:

09:00 – 09:30 am Arrival

09:30 – 10:00 am Welcome notes

10:00 – 12:30 am Overview of SBTs criteria, processes, and SBTs scoring in CDP 2018 questionnaire

12:30 – 01:30 pm Lunch Break

01:30 – 03:30 pm Thematic sessions

We kindly ask you to RSVP for the event here by February 15th. We recommend an early registration as well as to limit registrations to one person per organization.
