Innovation Manager at COLBUN S.A.
Cristián Mosella holds a B.S. and M.S. degree on Engineering Science from the Pontificia Universidad Católica of Chile. He has more than ten years of experience in energy and environmental issues, being involved in several projects and studies related with renewable energy deployment, greenhouse gases emissions reduction, climate change, innovation and sustainable development strategies.
During his professional career Cristián has worked with many energy projects, assessing its viability, sustainability and economic and technical feasibility. At the same time he has been responsible for managing ten Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and voluntary standards projects, in its different stages of development, issuing and commercializing carbon credits for almost USD 20 million.
From 2009 to date Cristián has been working with COLBUN S.A., the second largest power generation company of the Chilean central grid, with almost 3,300 megawatts of installed capacity and more than three millions tons of CO2 displaced.
Nowadays Cristián is responsible of managing the innovation portfolio of the Company, with almost twenty initiatives linked with the operation, sustainability performance and corporate shared value projects, six GHG emission reduction hydroelectric projects and participating in the national debate and working groups which aims for the development of a low-carbon economy.
